The “odor hotline” was set up for quick response, when necessary, and with respect to good environmental practices.
The material that GZM recycles and disposes of is organic in nature and therefore somewhat sensitive concerning odor. GZM is fully aware of this aspect and takes precautions to keep emissions as low as possible. An advisory commission, which is composed of BECO municipality representatives and GZM, coordinates the statutory odor measurements and monitors the appropriate procedures.
Should there be any perceived unpleasant odors in the neighborhood and it’s suspected that GZM is at its origin, GZM requests quick notification; preferably through use of the Odor Hotline Form. This is immediately sent for registration to the monitoring committee at the Lyss Buildings Department. In this way, the odor source is quickly located and efficiently removed, if necessary.
